Piotr Kurek

Piotr Kurek is a Warsaw-based composer and performer. His work focuses on shifting, unstable arrangements, allowing elements of chamber music, jazz, and fractured song forms to drift and dissolve. Constantly in transition, Kurek’s practice spans solo albums alongside numerous scores for theater, film, and multidisciplinary projects, bound by a recurring interest in instability and understatement.

This elusive approach is documented on solo releases for Unsound, Mondoj, and Longform Editions. It is central to Songs and Bodies (Unsound 2025), where deconstructed textures are shaped into slow, skeletal grooves, and Greyhound Days (Mondoj 2025), a sparse collaboration with American saxophonist Patrick Shiroishi.
